Nowadays, the transport sector plays a fundamental role in society and the economy,
since citizens; quality of life depends on an effective, accessible and ecological transport
system.
In fact, the omnipresent demographic changes in cities are changing mobility patterns to
face the consequences of transport, such as air and noise pollution, climate change,
congestion or lack of space, thus bringing about more sustainable forms of transport.
In order to make more efficient use of space and resources, public electric scooters have
emerged, micromobility vehicles that have gained strong prominence in recent decades
as an alternative for urban transport.
However, we are intrigued by the fact that one of the largest European capitals, Paris,
intends to abolish the rental of these, due to unforeseen results, such as irresponsible
driving, disorganization, vandalism and inadequate treatment when they are at the end
of their life. Furthermore, electric scooters have batteries that contain materials that are
highly toxic to the environment, such as lithium and cobalt. Thus, major negative and
harmful impacts are associated with the environment, given that at the end of its life the
scooter does not have a clear and objective destination that allows it to be recycled.
Having said that, we intend to overcome this situation and, with that, find a solution that
involves reusing batteries, thus creating our small company called BatteryReVive, The
Beginning of the Future.
